چکیده
Abstract OBJECTIVES Robotic-assisted oesophagectomy for cancer has been increasingly employed worldwide; however, the benefits of this technique compared to conventional minimally invasive are unclear. Since 2016, hybrid robotic (R-HMIE) replaced laparoscopic (HMIE) as standard care in our institution. The aim study was compare these procedures. METHODS Over a 10-year period, 686 patients underwent at Out patients, 128 with were treated technique. Each patient who R-HMIE matched according gender, age, comorbidity, American Society Anesthesiologists classification, Union International Contre le Cancer stage, localization, histology and neoadjuvant treatment HMIE. Perioperative parameters extracted from database between 2 groups. RESULTS After matching procedure, 88 included study. Between HMIE R-HMIE, no significant differences (P > 0.05) found operating time (median 281 vs 300 min), R0 resection rate (n = 42 42), harvested lymph nodes 28 24), hospital stay 19 17 days) intensive unit 7 6.5 days). Regarding surgical complications, difference could be observed either 44). Recurrence risk after Ivor Lewis oesophagectomy for cancer
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to analyze the profile of tumor recurrence for patients operated on for cancer of oesophagogastric junction or oesophagus by Ivor-Lewis oesophagectomy. METHODS Patients undergoing potentially curative Ivor-Lewis oesophageal resection between January 1999 to December 2008 at a single center institution were retrospectively analyzed. Their clinical records, d...
متن کاملComparison of perioperative outcomes following open versus minimally invasive Ivor Lewis oesophagectomy at a single, high-volume centre.
OBJECTIVES With the increasing popularity of minimally invasive oesophageal resections, equivalence, if not superiority, to open techniques must be demonstrated. Here we compare our open and minimally invasive Ivor Lewis oesophagectomy (MIE) experience. METHODS A prospective database of all oesophagectomies performed at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA between November 2007 and Ja...
متن کاملInitial experience of robotic versus laparoscopic colectomy for transverse colon cancer: a matched case-control study
BACKGROUND Robotic surgery for transverse colon cancer has rarely been described. This study reports our initial experience in robotic resection for transverse colon cancer, by comparing robotic transverse colectomy (RC) to laparoscopic transverse colectomy (LC) in terms of safety, feasibility, short-term outcomes, and the surgeon's psychological stress and physical pain. METHODS The study po...
متن کاملRobotic versus Laparoscopic versus Open Gastrectomy: A Meta-Analysis
PURPOSE To define the role of robotic gastrectomy for the treatment of gastric cancer, the present systematic review with meta-analysis was performed. MATERIALS AND METHODS A comprehensive search up to July 2012 was conducted on PubMed, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library. All eligible studies comparing robotic gastrectomy versus laparoscopic gastrectomy or open gastrectomy were included. RESU...
متن کاملEffective Downsizing of a Large Oesophageal Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumour with Neoadjuvant Imatinib Enabling an Uncomplicated and without Tumour Rupture Laparoscopic-Assisted Ivor-Lewis Oesophagectomy
Neoadjuvant imatinib for gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GISTs) is increasingly used nowadays. As oesophagectomy is associated with high morbidity and mortality, a preoperative downsizing of an oesophageal GIST to limit the extent of resection would be ideal. Because these tumours are rare and neoadjuvant treatment with imatinib is recent, there is limited literature available regarding neoad...
